Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced

Senior Technical Engineer to join our team.

This is a varied and hands‑on role responsible for processing aluminium and u PVC orders, preparing quotations, providing technical support and assisting with product design and purchasing activities.

  • Order Processing
  • Process aluminium and u PVC window and door orders into manufacturing‑ready production files.
  • Produce accurate cutting lists, CNC data and manufacturing documentation.
  • Use Logi Kal, Windows Designer and other industry software to generate production information.
  • Ensure all orders comply with customer specifications, building regulations and company quality standards.
  • Optimise material usage and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Estimating
  • Prepare quotations for aluminium windows, doors and associated glazing products.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Assist with pricing enquiries and technical quotations.
  • Support project handovers from quotation stage through to manufacture.
  • Purchasing Support
  • Assist with material ordering and procurement activities.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding technical specifications, pricing and lead times.
  • Support stock management and material planning requirements.
  • Technical Support & Design
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Surveying, Purchasing and Production teams.
  • Interpret technical drawings, surveys and customer specifications.
  • Use CAD software to produce manufacturing drawings and bespoke design details.
  • Assist with technical problem‑solving and product development.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

About You

  • Previous experience processing aluminium window and door systems.
  • Experience using

Logi Kal for aluminium processing.

  • CAD experience for producing manufacturing and technical drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Desirable

  • Experience preparing quotations within the fenestration industry.
  • Experience using

Windows Designer or equivalent software for u PVC processing.

  • Knowledge of Senior Architectural Systems, Alu K or similar systems.
  • Experience generating CNC manufacturing data.
  • Understanding of current building regulations and industry standards.

Role Description

The Senior Technical Engineer – Aluminium & u PVC is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Lincolnshire.

This role is responsible for providing technical expertise in the design, specification, and installation of aluminium and u PVC doors, windows, bifold doors, conservatories, and curtain walling.

Daily tasks include reviewing project drawings, preparing accurate technical specifications, advising on product suitability, and ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and industry standards.

The Senior Technical Engineer will support production and installation teams with technical guidance, troubleshoot complex issues on active projects, and contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing and installation processes.

The role also involves liaising with suppliers, supporting quality assurance, and collaborating with sales and project management teams to deliver solutions that meet client requirements and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical experience with aluminium and u PVC window, door, bifold, conservatory, and curtain walling systems, including fabrication and installation methods.
  • Solid understanding of building regulations, industry standards (including FENSA requirements), structural considerations, and performance criteria for fenestration products.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications; experience with CAD or similar design software is highly beneficial.
  • Background in engineering, construction, or fenestration, supported by relevant qualifications (e. g., NVQ, HNC/HND, or degree in a related discipline).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues on‑site and in production.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with production teams, installers, suppliers, and clients in a clear and professional manner.
  • Experience mentoring or leading technical teams, with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Good IT skills, including use of industry‑specific software and standard office applications for documentation and reporting.
