Join Tradebe, a leading provider of sustainable healthcare waste and environmental compliance services to the NHS and private sector. We're looking for a detail-driven, environmentally focused Medical Waste Auditor to support healthcare organisations in improving their waste segregation, compliance, and sustainability performance.
What you'll do:
- Conduct waste segregation and compliance audits across NHS hospitals, clinics, and community sites.
- Assist in carrying out and reviewing NHS Pre Acceptance Audits.
- Support NHS Trusts in meeting HTM 07-01, UK waste legislation, and NHS sustainability goals.
- Travel to NHS sites and Tradebe facilities (Swindon, Wrexham, Glasgow) with flexibility to manage your own diary.
- Identify risks, non-conformances, and improvement opportunities.
- Produce clear audit reports with actionable recommendations.
- Deliver training to clinical and non-clinical staff on correct waste segregation and environmental compliance.
- Work closely with NHS Estates, IPC, and Sustainability teams.
- Support clients with KPI tracking, data reporting, and carbon reduction initiatives.
- Ensure all work meets ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
Do you have what it takes?
Essential:
- Experience in healthcare waste management, environmental auditing or compliance (ideally with the NHS).
- Knowledge of HTM 07-01 and UK waste/environmental legislation.
- Strong auditing, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Excellent communicator, confident engaging staff at all levels.
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable:
- Environmental or waste management qualifications (CIWM, IEMA, etc.).
- ISO 14001 auditing experience.
- Experience delivering training.
