What will you do? Make an impact! Join our team and be responsible for SHEQ across the Fawley site. This role is responsible for functions on all aspects of health, safety, environmental and quality issues; to ensure that the site operates safely and effectively in line with current Tradebe policies and procedures and to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and suitability of these management systems.
Responsibilities
- Safety
- Carry out site inspections
- Carry out site inductions/orientations
- Arrange new and review existing site risk assessments and effective implementation of risk reduction measures
- Assist in Human Factors Risk Assessments
- Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with COMAH and DSEAR regulations
- Support Root Cause Investigation and fault finding
- Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with any relevant emergency plans
- Conduct accident investigations, share knowledge with other sites and ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed appropriately
- Ensure suitable control systems are in place for legionella, asbestos, noise & vibration
- Ensure compliance with relevant H&S legislation
- Participate in Process Safety review such as HAZID and HAZOP studies as required
- Health
- Support the Chemical Exposure Monitoring Programmes (COSHH); Help review site COSHH assessments and maintain an accurate record of chemical risk assessments
- Implement the Occupational Health Surveillance Programmes
- Ensure best hygiene practices are implemented and maintained
- Environment
- Assist the SHEQ Manager to ensure ongoing compliance with Environmental Permits and other relevant environmental legislation
- Prepare the monthly reports for Environmental Permit, Sustainability and Waste returns
- Monitor the site's environmental monitoring programmes
- Support the site energy management programme and the Sustainability programmes and ensure compliance with relevant programmes and targets
- Quality
- Support the site's quality management system by ensuring that documents are distributed and reviewed as required
- Support Duty of Care Visits with Customers and conduct Duty of Care audits of suppliers where required
- Progress the investigation and resolution of customer complaints
- Conduct investigations into near misses, incidents and complaints, ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are completed
- Gather data and report monthly on site Process Performance Safety Indicators (PSPIs)
- Support the Corporate and Site Internal Audit Process
- Other duties
- Liaise where requested with authorities, regulatory and other bodies to ensure legal compliance
- Assist with reporting to EA/HSE
- Assist in the provision of monthly health and safety performance data for both management and operational functions
- Support the development of Site and Corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and the management of Corporate Social Reporting metrics
- Ensure SHEQ requirements are effectively communicated through site inductions and manage SHEQ competency programmes
- Track, record and maintain the sites training requirements and training records ensuring the training and development is recorded in a timely and accurate fashion
- Assist with arranging of training courses
