Join Tradebe as a Senior Operator and play a key role in keeping our operations running safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. As an experienced operator, you'll use your technical knowledge to support the production of quality Cemfuel, while taking on a varied role across operations, troubleshooting, SHEQ, training and site activities. You'll also have the opportunity to lead and support shift teams, ensuring our people, processes and plant operate safely and effectively. Shifts are 24/7 4o4o on DDNN pattern.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • To ensure shift runs to required levels of safety.
  • Ensure plants and processes are operated in accordance with correct operating procedures and practices.
  • To promote the reporting of safety observations on shift and relevant escalation out of hours.
  • To be responsible as the Site Incident Controller on shift and implement the site emergency plan.
  • To ensure that staff wear the correct PPE.
  • To ensure the blending and delivery of in spec cemfuel to plan.
  • To issue required permits according to approved competency.
  • To maintain the high standards of housekeeping.
  • To follow absence, sickness and holidays process.
  • To report maintenance issues and assist where necessary in their resolution.
  • To ensure planned preventative maintenance inspections are completed for your area of knowledge.
  • To ensure that all required records are maintained.
  • To assist with month end data collection.
  • To perform all other reasonable duties and tasks as requested.

Other Essential Skills:

  • People supervision skills.
  • Ability to liaise with different areas of the business.
  • Computer literacy especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Cool under pressure.

Desirable Skills:

  • Health & safety qualification (IOSH).
  • Knowledge of solvent processing and blending principles and tools.
  • Forklift truck licence.
  • Driving licence to assist with learning of site shunter, van tanker, hook loader etc.
  • Permit training.
  • First aid at work.
  • Experience in chemicals / waste industry.
  • Emergency response experience.
