What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a Customer Service Support professional to join our Heysham site. This role is ideal for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced office environment, supporting customers and internal teams, and managing detailed administrative processes with accuracy and care. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth order processing, documentation control, and communication between customers, transport, and operational teams.

Role Overview

To provide day-to-day administrative and operational support within the Customer Service team, ensuring accurate processing of orders, documentation, and service requests. The role requires close collaboration with customers, transport, operations, and finance teams, with a strong focus on compliance, efficiency, and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer orders and service requests accurately in internal systems
  • Act as a first point of contact for customers via phone, email, and Microsoft Teams
  • Liaise with operations and transport teams to arrange collections and deliveries
  • Manage and complete documentation related to waste transport and compliance requirements
  • Support export and import administrative processes (training provided)
  • Handle customer queries, issues, and complaints, ensuring timely resolution
  • Support invoicing activities and liaise with Finance to resolve account queries
  • Maintain and update internal systems, including SAP (where applicable)
  • Use Microsoft Excel to track volumes and customer account activity
  • Assist with pricing requests, quotations, and customer documentation
  • Support general administrative tasks within the Customer Service team
  • Ensure all activities are completed in line with KPIs, SLAs, and company procedures

Requirements

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a customer service or administrative role (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially with documentation
  • Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience in logistics, transport, chemicals, or waste-related industries is an advantage
  • Exposure to SAP or similar systems is desirable
  • Understanding of import/export processes is a plus
