Job Description

Plant Operator

Swindon

Shift Pattern: 4o4o Days and Nights

Working hours: 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am

Your Responsibilities

Health & Safety

  • Always carry out your duties safely and in full compliance with site procedures and legislation.
  • Wear the correct PPE at all times while on site.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns, hazards or issues to your Supervisor, Team Leader or Site Management.
  • Report all near misses, accidents, incidents and non-conformances promptly and accurately.

Operations

  • Support the efficient operation of the plant by maintaining appropriate loading rates and seeking guidance from your Supervisor or Team Leader when required.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles to ensure safe and efficient turnaround times.
  • Load and unload trailers and containers as instructed.
  • Work collaboratively across the site, supporting other areas of the operation when required.
  • Operate plant and equipment in accordance with site permits, consents and operating procedures.
  • Complete all required operational checks and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules.
  • Work with your Supervisor or Team Leader to identify and resolve operational issues, using initiative where appropriate.
  • Ensure all 770-litre bins are washed, cleaned and maintained after each use.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across the site, including removing litter and keeping work areas clean and safe.

  • FLT licence
  • PC Literate

Knowledge:

  • Continuous processing Plant
