What will you do? Make an impact! Tradebe is seeking to add two mechanical apprentices to our team in Heysham. Their responsibilities to the site will be the performance of day-to-day maintenance and fabrication tasks associated with normal operations, whilst maintaining the highest level of compliance to the company's health and safety, environmental, procedural and statutory goals. During the course of their employment with us, they will have the opportunity to study for a Level 3 Qualification as an Engineering Maintenance Technician.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair or fabrication of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic plant and equipment on Heysham site (as far as training and skills allow).
- Ensure that all equipment/plant worked on is maintained to a safe condition, compliant with any specific regulations and/or restrictions.
- To assist as required in mechanical or other engineering tasks as the workload demands.
- Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations and conditions are adhered to.
- Completion of necessary work permits and associated systems to allow safe maintenance & repair works to be carried out.
- To maintain good housekeeping standards across the whole site.
- Provide engineering support and knowledge.
- Keep accurate written records of work carried out.
- Participate wherever possible in the installation and design of new equipment and processes.
- Work with and in compliance to written maintenance and operational procedures.
- Carry out work in accordance with the restrictions set in HSWA, IPPC, COSHH, and any other relevant regulation or standard.
- Contribute to achieving the departments and site's production and performance objectives.
- Analyse and interpret data to resolve breakdowns or problems.
- Be available for a reasonable amount of overtime including out of hours call outs to enable the company to meet its production needs.

- Willingness to work outdoors.
- Strong hand dexterity skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Hands on craft engineering experience.
- Already undertaken some form of mechanical learning.
- Fabrication experience.
- Understanding of core health and safety requirements.
