Location: Queenslie

Shift: 6pm-6am

Main Purpose: Collect clinical waste from customer sites (e.g., acute hospitals and transfer stations) safely and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and transport clinical waste in line with company procedures and ADR/road laws.
  • Load and unload waste containers safely.
  • Complete all required paperwork and PDA records for each collection.
  • Carry out vehicle checks, report defects, and keep vehicles clean, tidy, and refuelled.
  • Report incidents, near misses, delays, or issues to the line manager/site.
  • Follow all site rules and company policies, including correct PPE use.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour on customer sites.
  • Attend team briefings and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Ensure loads are secure, not overloaded, and waste is properly segregated.

Essential Skills:

  • Communication skills.
  • Good Customer relations.
  • C+E or C Licence.
  • Driver qualification card (CPC).
  • Understanding of EU Driver & Working time Laws.

Desirable Skills:

  • ADR qualified.
  • Experience in handling Waste (Clinical & Hazardous desirable).
  • Use of hand held devices i.e. PDA.

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge Road Traffic Laws.
  • Knowledge of the UK road Network.
  • Knowledge of NHS contracts (desirable).
  • Good knowledge of the waste industry (Clinical & Hazardous waste desirable).
