Main purpose of job: To carry out site maintenance tasks at Tradebe Transfer Stations within the Northwest UK (plus visits to other sites). To maintain these sites in a safe and compliant operational state and to proactively improve the maintenance records and operational efficiencies at these sites whilst maintaining the highest health & safety standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • To carry out maintenance tasks at Knowsley, Image Park and Cheshire sites as necessary, with occasional visits to Hinckley.
  • To use the Planned Preventative Maintenance System to schedule and record all maintenance work on each site, proactively planning future maintenance tasks to maintain the smooth running of the plants.
  • To manage the Maintenance Technician, including his workload, timekeeping, holidays and training needs.
  • To ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • To assist in delivering sector-leading levels of service and customer care.
  • To select and control contractors to site when required.
  • To ensure the company procedures regarding the health & safety of contractors are followed and maintained.
  • Operation of Tradebe Permit to Work system.
  • To assist in reviewing and developing maintenance techniques and procedures and plant & transfer station processing capabilities.
  • To perform all other reasonable duties and tasks as requested.

  • Mechanical maintenance skills & qualifications
  • Current regulations: PUWER, LOLER, Pressure Systems, Working at height, Confined Space Working etc
  • Working knowledge of electrical maintenance
  • Basic computer skills
  • Welding

  • Health & Safety knowledge
  • Pressure jetting
  • PPE regulations
