What will you do? Make an impact! The role holder will perform the day-to-day maintenance tasks associated with the operation of the site, whilst maintaining the highest level of compliance to the company's health and safety, environmental, procedural and statutory goals.
Principal Duties
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic plant and equipment on Heysham site (as far as skills allow).
- Ensure that all equipment/plant worked on is maintained to a safe condition, compliant with any specific regulations and/or restrictions.
- To ensure that engineering skills are available to production areas for supporting 'non-skilled' personnel in engineering matters where appropriate.
- To assist as required in mechanical or other engineering tasks as the workload demands.
- Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations and conditions are adhered to.
- Completion of necessary work permits and associated systems to allow safe maintenance & repair works to be carried out.
- To maintain good housekeeping standards across the whole site.
- Provide engineering support and knowledge.
- Keep accurate written records of work carried out.
- Participate wherever possible in the installation and design of new equipment and processes.
- Work with and in compliance to written maintenance and operational procedures.
- Carry out work in accordance with the restrictions set in HSWA, IPPC, COSHH, and any other relevant regulation or standard.
- Contribute to achieving the department's and site's production and performance objectives.
- Analyse and interpret data in order to resolve breakdowns or problems.
- Provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice.
- Be available for a reasonable amount of overtime including out of hours call outs to enable the company to meet its production needs.
Do you have what it takes?Essential Skills.
- The ability to demonstrate a proven track record in mechanical maintenance on Pumps, Tanks and Pipework.
- Have experience of working within a CMMS run maintenance department.
- Hold a Fork Lift Truck licence.
