Main purpose of the role: To carry out day to day operational tasks on GWMC Treatment Plant, as directed by the Shift Managers, whilst assisting in maintaining the highest standards of health & safety performance, housekeeping and procedural and regulatory compliance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- To perform Treatment Plant operations as directed by the Shift Managers. Such tasks will include (but not be limited to):
- Offloading incoming waste tankers
- Tipping packaged waste as transferred from the Transfer Station
- Operating the site plant
- Directing plant traffic
- Cleaning any operational areas or plant
- To assist the site management to continually strive towards the highest health & safety goals.
- To follow company procedures where they impact on operations, and assist in the development and maintenance of these.
- To maintain the highest standards of housekeeping.
- To work with the Shift Managers to monitor and improve productivity and efficiencies, including those of the operatives.
- To assist the Shift Managers in identifying and satisfying training requirements.
- To report maintenance issues and assist where necessary in their resolution. This may involve travel to other Tradebe group sites where appropriate.
- To assist with the planned preventative maintenance system where appropriate.
- To help ensure the transfer of wastes from the transfer station is maximised and carried out efficiently.
- To assist the Transfer Station Chemists and Operatives where required.
- To ensure that all records required by statutory regulation and company procedure are maintained, where requested.
- To perform all other reasonable duties and tasks as requested.
