A vacancy has arisen for an Administrative Assistant to join our team in GMB London Region; the post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and support needs of regional officers and the regional departments in general, to ensure a smooth and efficient running of all regional business.

The successful candidate will provide a vital support function for our officers and wider support staff; whether that’s organising meetings, making travel arrangements, preparing meeting minutes or producing reports, you’ll work as part of a friendly and collaborative team ensuring the work of the region can function.

This is a key support role where the successful candidate’s efficient, effective and proven administrative skills will support the region in delivering a first class, professional service to our members.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a strong multi-tasker
  • Possess strong IT skills
  • Possess a flexible attitude and a full range of administrative skills as outlined in the job description
  • Be able to work on their own initiative to undertake duties in a professional and efficient manner
  • To be an effective and supportive team player
  • Have an understanding of the GMB, other Trade Unions as well as commitment to the wider Trade Union and Labour Movement more generally.
