Job description:\\nTrade Recruit is looking for a Solar Installation Manager.\\nOur client TJS Solar is a fast-growing renewables company based in Leigh, Greater Manchester. We specialise in premium solar PV and battery storage systems for domestic and commercial clients. We’re looking for an experienced and qualified electrician to step into a key role leading the delivery of our residential solar and battery installations.\\nWho We’re Looking For\\nYou’ll be a fully qualified electrician with strong experience in solar and battery storage, ideally with a track record of managing installations and supervising teams.
You’ll take full ownership of the installation process — from planning to handover — and be the main point of contact for both the installation teams and the customer.\\nResponsibilities\\n * Manage and coordinate residential installation schedules\\n * Oversee in-house electrical and roofing teams\\n * Order materials and liaise with suppliers\\n * Submit DNO applications, NICEIC certificates, and MCS paperwork\\n * Handle site readiness checks, RAMS, and compliance\\n * Be the main customer contact from sale to handover, providing updates and arranging install dates\\n * Deliver post-install technical support for customer queries and warranty issues\\n * Maintain documentation, handover packs, and MCS/IWA submissions\\n * Support the MD in driving quality, compliance, and continuous improvement\\n * Represent the company as NICEIC Qualified Supervisor and MCS Technical Representative (or be willing to train into the role)\\nRequirements\\n * Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 + AM2)\\n * 18th Edition and 2391 Testing & Inspection\\n * At least 2 years’ experience installing domestic solar PV and battery systems\\n * Confident with OpenSolar and general install planning tools\\n * Experience supervising teams or managing multiple installs\\n * Good understanding of DNO applications and MCS processes\\n * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills\\n * Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (mileage paid)\\nBonus (Nice to Have)\\n * NICEIC QS or MCS Technical Rep experience\\n * Familiarity with systems like Fox ESS, Sigenergy, or Tesla Powerwall\\n * Health & safety training (e.g. working at height, asbestos awareness)\\nWhat You’ll Get\\n * £50,000–£55,000 depending on experience\\n * Mileage allowance for business travel (own vehicle required)\\n * Laptop and access to required systems\\n * 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)\\n * Pension (NEST)\\n * Support and funding to become NICEIC QS and MCS Technical Rep\\n * Autonomy, responsibility, and a direct line to the MD\\n * A chance to help shape and lead operations in a growing renewables business
