Trade Mastermind is a leading UK business growth and development organisation dedicated to helping ambitious business owners build more profitable, scalable and sustainable businesses. While we have a strong heritage and established reputation within the trades sector, our coaching, mentoring, events, training and business growth programmes support entrepreneurs and business owners across all industries and sectors. We help ambitious business owners improve their strategy, sales, marketing, leadership, operations and overall business performance.
As Trade Mastermind continues to grow, so does the volume and importance of our data. We are looking for an experienced Data & Insights Manager to take ownership of the quality, structure, governance and effective use of data across the organisation. This is an opportunity to play an important role in developing our data capabilities and ensuring that accurate, reliable and actionable information supports business growth, operational excellence and exceptional customer experiences.
As our Data & Insights Manager, you will take ownership of how data is collected, structured, maintained, governed and utilised across Trade Mastermind. Working closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance and Operations, you will ensure that business-critical information is accurate, consistent, accessible and actionable. You will be responsible for improving data quality, developing robust processes, strengthening reporting capabilities and identifying opportunities to automate and optimise the way information flows between our systems.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working both strategically and hands-on. One day you may be analysing business performance and developing dashboards for senior leadership, while another may involve investigating CRM data quality, improving an integration or working with a department to establish better data capture processes. We are looking for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, solving problems and transforming data into meaningful business value.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- You will take ownership of data management and governance across our key business systems, ensuring information is accurate, consistent and maintained to a high standard.
- A major focus of the role will be improving data quality. You will regularly review and audit our databases to identify duplicate, incomplete or inaccurate records and establish processes to prevent these issues from recurring. Where possible, you will introduce automation and controls to reduce manual intervention and improve reliability.
- You will develop and maintain dashboards, reports and performance metrics that give teams and senior leaders clear visibility of business performance. Working with stakeholders across the organisation, you will help define meaningful KPIs and ensure decisions are supported by reliable information.
- You will also be responsible for improving how data moves between our systems. This will include supporting CRM administration and optimisation, reviewing integrations, identifying opportunities for automation and contributing to system implementations, migrations and upgrades.
- Working closely with our Marketing and Sales teams, you will help improve lead management, segmentation, attribution and customer journey reporting. You will ensure that information generated through marketing campaigns, events, sales activity and customer interactions is captured accurately and can be used to improve acquisition, conversion, retention and customer experience.
- As our data capabilities develop, you will also help establish clear governance standards, documentation and best practices for how information is captured, stored, maintained and used throughout the organisation.
About You
You are likely to have previous experience as a Data Manager, Data Operations Manager, CRM Manager, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Manager or in a similar data-focused position. You will have a strong understanding of data management and data quality principles, with experience working with large or complex datasets. You should be confident identifying problems within data, understanding why they are happening and implementing practical solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and experience producing reports, dashboards and performance metrics. You will need excellent attention to detail and a structured, process-driven approach. Just as importantly, you will be comfortable communicating with people across different areas and levels of a business, translating complex data into clear insights and practical recommendations.
Experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce or similar would be highly advantageous. Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Looker Studio or Tableau would also be beneficial, as would experience working with system integrations, APIs and automation platforms. An understanding of UK GDPR, data protection and data governance requirements is desirable, particularly if you have previously helped establish or improve data governance processes. Experience within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial or high-growth business environment would be an advantage.
What Success Looks Like
Your work will create a trusted and reliable source of data across Trade Mastermind, giving teams greater confidence in the information they use every day. You will improve the accuracy, consistency and accessibility of our data while reducing duplication, inefficiencies and unnecessary manual processes. Senior leaders and departmental teams will have clearer visibility of performance through better dashboards, reporting and business intelligence. You will help connect information across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance and Operations, enabling us to better understand the complete customer journey and make smarter commercial decisions. Ultimately, you will help create a more data-driven culture where accurate information and meaningful insights are used to improve performance, customer experience and business growth.
Why Join Trade Mastermind?
Trade Mastermind is an ambitious and growing organisation where you will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on how the business operates and makes decisions. You will work alongside ambitious, entrepreneurial and high-performing teams while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the organisation. We offer opportunities for professional development and career progression, alongside a collaborative working environment where initiative, expertise and new ideas are valued. Most importantly, your work will contribute to our mission of helping ambitious business owners within the trades and across all other sectors build stronger, more profitable and sustainable businesses.
