About Trade Mastermind

Trade Mastermind is the UK’s No.1 business coaching platform for construction and beyond business owners. Founded by Joseph Valente, our mission is to empower trade professionals with the tools, structure, and confidence to scale successful businesses. As a fast-growing, nationally recognised brand, we deliver real commercial results in a high-performance, entrepreneurial environment.

The Role

We are looking for a commercially minded and confident Credit Controller who enjoys building relationships, influencing outcomes, and taking ownership of cash collection. This role suits someone with a sales-style mindset – comfortable on the phone, confident negotiating payment, and able to balance firmness with professionalism.

You will take full ownership of the credit control cycle, proactively managing customer accounts, chasing overdue invoices, and negotiating payment arrangements where appropriate. A key part of the role is building strong, professional relationships with clients, resolving invoice queries quickly, and constructively challenging non-payment to protect cash flow while maintaining long-term customer relationships.

You will also work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment on customer accounts, assess risk, manage credit limits, and produce regular reporting on debtor position, aged debt, and cash-flow exposure. Your focus will be on reducing aged debt and improving overall payment performance through confident communication and strong commercial judgement.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with prior experience in credit control, accounts receivable, collections, or a similar role, who is commercially aware, resilient, and results-driven. You should be confident handling challenging conversations, persuasive in negotiating payment outcomes, highly organised, and comfortable working with financial systems and Excel in a fast-paced, performance-focused environment.

While experience is important, we are ultimately looking for the right personality – someone who is confident, driven, and able to influence outcomes through strong communication and relationship-building skills.

What We Offer

In return, we offer a competitive salary of £35,000 – £40,000, clear development and progression opportunities, tailored training aligned with career goals, and the chance to work within a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture. You’ll be based in a modern, high-spec office in Peterborough with free on-site parking, company pension scheme, sponsored qualifications, and the opportunity to be part of a business reshaping the construction sector.
