Our client is looking for an additional EXPERIENCED Logistics Route Planner to join the team. This is a full-time Monday-Friday employed office-based position.

The primary focus for the planner is to route plan and allocate vehicle movement jobs for the trade plate drivers, ensuring that the drivers time on the road collecting and delivering customer vehicles is maximised. Equally, planning to minimise the time and expense the drivers spend on public transport in between vehicle movements. The average number of vehicle movements per day is between 2-4 per driver.
As a Logistics Planner, you will be driven, organised, disciplined and hard-working. You will have a strong geographical knowledge of mainland UK which will assist you in your planning schedule and responsibilities. Working well with your colleagues as a key team member is a paramount as well as having a good understanding of the companys operational procedures to achieve your KPIs along with achieving the SLAs for the customers and their movement demands.
Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for day-to-day planning of vehicle movements for the team of drivers
Building a good relationship with drivers to achieve vehicle movement expectations
Knowledge of customer requirements and allocate according to drivers skills and abilities
Daily office support with drivers to deal with movement schedules
Assisting with any driver issues to achieve prompt resolution
Working with planning, allocation and coordinator team members
Working with other departments to ensure customer SLAs are met
Any other duties required to assist with business operations
Required Criteria:
Strong knowledge and understanding of UK road network and its geography
Good knowledge of Public Transport system across the country
Logistics environment planning experience for multiple drivers
Ideally at least 12 months experience of vehicle movements (trade plate driving) planning & allocations, or 12 month’s previous vehicle movement driver experience
Ability to communicate with all team members with excellent telephone manner
Good interpersonal skills, including patience and empathy
Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team to achieve daily tasks
Proactive, disciplined and organised
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Reliable and be dedicated to yours and colleagues responsibilities
IT literate and ability to learn and implement company procedures
Nice to have:
Previous experience of being a vehicle movement driver would be a distinct advantage to being successful in this role but not essential. Logistics Planning experience however is required.
Full UK Driving Licence.
