TPJ Recruit is expanding and seeking motivated, results-driven New Business Recruitment Consultants to join our growing team. This is a self-employed opportunity for an experienced recruiter who can win new clients, build lasting relationships and deliver permanent recruitment placements across Logistics, Transport and Driving, or other sectors where you can demonstrate strong success.

You will manage the full 360 recruitment process, from securing new business and understanding client requirements through to sourcing, screening, interviewing and placing candidates. You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of each client's business, identify opportunities and maintain excellent service standards throughout the recruitment cycle.

This role is best suited to a disciplined, commercially focused recruiter who is confident working independently from home, can generate new business consistently and wants the flexibility and earning potential of a self-employed model.

Job details

  • Location: Remote, home-based
  • Engagement type: Self-employed for the first 6 months of service
  • Commission: 50% of everything you bill during the self-employed period
  • Sector focus: Logistics, Transport and Driver; Successful new-business winners with permanent placements from other sectors will be welcomed

What we offer

We offer experienced self-employed recruitment consultants the opportunity to retain a higher percentage of their billings than in a traditional employed recruitment role. During the initial self-employed period, you earn 50% of everything you bill.

How it works

For example, if your current employed recruiter role pays £30,000 basic salary plus 10% commission, billing £100,000 per year would generate approximately £40,000 in annual earnings. By contrast, billing £100,000 per year with TPJ Recruit on a 50% commission basis would generate approximately £50,000 in annual earnings, giving you a clear opportunity to increase your income while building something for yourself.

Work in any permanent recruitment sector where you have proven experience, strong market knowledge and the confidence to generate new business. Join a business that values experienced, driven recruiters who can demonstrate a professional, disciplined and success-fuelled work ethic.

Focus on winning clients and making placements while we support back-office administration, including payroll and invoice chasing.

Flexibility to suit your lifestyle

As a self-employed consultant, you can choose your own hours and work from home. This opportunity is ideal for someone who values flexibility, can stay productive without daily office supervision and is motivated by uncapped earning potential. Earnings are uncapped and directly linked to your dedication, activity and billing performance.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Source and secure new clients with the potential for multiple or frequent permanent placements.
  • Liaise with clients regularly to understand their recruitment needs and prioritise your activity.
  • Source suitable candidates for current and future vacancies.
  • Write and publish professional job advertisements that attract relevant candidates.
  • Develop and manage candidate relationships within your specialist market.
  • Qualify candidate suitability for current and future vacancies through effective questioning, screening and referencing.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships to deliver excellent service and maximise future business opportunities.
  • Support the wider team by sharing market insight and identifying opportunities to generate revenue.
  • Manage the recruitment process from start to finish for both clients and candidates.
  • Handle client and candidate queries professionally, including objection handling and issue resolution.
  • Manage placed candidates' contracts and support the ongoing progression of live placements.
  • Keep accurate records in line with recruitment legislation and company processes.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, system notes and CRM records, including candidate right-to-work information.
  • Attend client site visits when required; you will therefore need access to a reliable car.

Review after 6 months

After successfully operating for 6 months as a self-employed New Business Recruitment Consultant, you may choose to continue on a self-employed basis or be considered for a permanent employed position.

Potential employed package after the initial 6 months

  • £35,000 annual salary
  • 20% commission paid on billed client invoices
  • For example, billing £100,000 would generate £20,000 commission, giving approximate annual earnings of £55,000+
  • Additional annual bonus for meeting and exceeding billed revenue targets
  • 20 days annual paid leave plus England bank holidays, increasing by one additional day each year
  • Extra paid holiday during the Christmas and New Year shutdown
  • Company pension
  • Continued home working, reducing time spent commuting
  • Career progression opportunities

Please only apply if you have relevant new business recruitment experience. Applications that do not demonstrate this experience are unlikely to be progressed.
