A key component of this role is the importance of connecting our data with what is happening across the business so we are looking for a passionate Lead Insights Analyst with commercial acumen who has a keen interest in making a difference at TradeMe.

You'll play an important role in understanding our audience, engagement, revenue, inventory and providing meaningful insights that help us to identify opportunities, test hypotheses and inform our sales, product, and marketing strategies. This role can be based out of Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch.

Responsibilities
  • Work with stakeholders to answer questions using our data
  • Dig into the data to understand the drivers of our business, causes of the trends and what we can do about it
  • Design, produce and present insights products to stakeholders across the business to help them in decision making and lead the use of data in experimentation
  • Develop insights generation techniques using a variety of tools ranging from first principles approaches to AI and machine learning
Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial data environments
  • Proficiency in data tools including and not limited to SQL, Power BI, Python or R, Google Analytics
  • Experience or ability to experiment with AI tools such as Claude code or Snowflake Cowork
  • A proven ability to establish excellent cross-functional working relationships across all people within the company and key customers
  • The ability to convey complex, technical information to non-technical persons
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Specifically, can solve problems efficiently and is comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect data
  • Good organisation, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
