Responsibilities
- Proactively source goods for sale and when talking to/visiting clients be aware of opportunities for other departments.
- Cataloguing and photographing goods for sale (print quality images are taken by our professional photographer).
- Provide accurate valuations for sale or other professional purposes.
- Establish new and maintain existing client relationships.
- Monitor and respond to electronic valuation enquiries.
- Work collaboratively to produce industry leading sale catalogues.
- Continue to grow and expand knowledge of specialist subject.
- Assist in the organisation and running of valuation and consignment days in Cambridge, London and around the region.
- Collaborate with the Head of Jewellery to develop and grow the wider department.
What will it take to be successful?
- Previous experience in an auction house environment is desirable.
- Ability to accurately catalogue, authenticate and value silver, and ideally with some knowledge of watches and/or jewellery - other areas of knowledge may be advantageous.
- Professional qualifications are desirable.
- Ability to deal with clients courteously and professionally.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Full driving license and use of own vehicle which is insured for business use.
