The Trade Desk is a global technology company and the world’s leading independent platform for digital advertising, with over 3,000 employees across more than 30 offices. Our technology helps advertisers reach the right audiences across the open internet — from streaming TV and podcasts to mobile apps, news, and more. Advertising powers the content people love. By making it more transparent, effective, and responsible, we help support trusted journalism, quality entertainment, and creators worldwide. The world’s brands and agencies rely on us to reach their customers and grow their businesses responsibly.

The scale of our platform brings unique technical challenges — from processing massive datasets in real time to building systems that operate reliably on a global scale. When you work here, your impact is worldwide. We welcome diverse perspectives, encourage curiosity, and build teams that learn from one another. If you’re driven to solve meaningful challenges, we’d love to meet you.

Who We’re Looking For

Reporting and data analytics represent one of the most significant areas of investment at The Trade Desk right now. After building one of the most powerful programmatic platforms in the world, we are making a comprehensive, ground‑up commitment to transform how our customers interact with their data — redesigning reporting experiences across the full stack, with a mandate to build something world‑class. The person who joins at this moment will help define what that looks like.

The scale of the data problem is also exceptional. The Trade Desk operates at a level matched by only a handful of companies globally — processing trillions of events, across billions of ad impressions, in real time, across every channel and market. The technical and product complexity that creates is genuinely hard, and genuinely interesting. Outside of a small number of major technology companies, few environments offer this combination of data scale, business impact, and the greenfield mandate to reimagine what’s possible.

We’re looking for a product manager who loves building: someone who gets close to users, becomes absorbed in their problems, and works side by side with engineering and design to create products people depend on. You bring a craftsperson’s care to the entire experience, from the clarity of an interaction to the accuracy of the data behind it. You’ll drive major initiatives that advance our reporting experiences, with the independence to shape solutions and the accountability to see them through. You measure success by the value customers realize, and when something falls short, you investigate, learn, and keep improving it.

What You’ll Do

  • As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll help build the next generation of reporting experiences at The Trade Desk, turning complex advertising data into clear insights and useful actions for our customers. This is an individual contributor role with meaningful scope: you’ll drive major product investments from the first customer conversation through launch and continued improvement.
  • Lead reporting initiatives from vision to customer impact. Drive investments that shape how customers explore, understand, and act on their advertising data. You’ll have the autonomy to define the approach, set priorities, and develop the roadmap—and accountability for the results.
  • Write compelling product vision and requirements documents that connect customer and market problems to our broader reporting strategy and give teams a clear direction.
  • Get close to users and their problems. Meet regularly with advertisers, agencies, and customer‑facing teams. Understand how customers monitor performance, investigate issues, share findings, and decide what to do next. Use those insights to uncover opportunities and challenge assumptions about what we should build.
  • Build with engineering and design. Work side by side with your partners to explore solutions, test ideas, and turn complex workflows into intuitive experiences. Stay engaged in the details, making thoughtful tradeoffs across usability, technical complexity, and customer value.
  • Treat data as part of the product. Make accuracy, consistency, freshness, and performance foundational requirements. Partner with engineering to ensure customers can understand the numbers they see, trust the results, and get answers when they need them.
  • Prioritise and deliver meaningful improvements. Break ambitious initiatives into releases that solve real customer problems. Make clear decisions about scope and sequencing, work through dependencies, and carry the work through to a complete, useful experience.
  • Measure value and follow through. Define success before launch and evaluate what happens afterward through product usage, customer feedback, and measures such as task completion and time to insight. When results fall short, understand why and drive the changes needed to improve them.
  • Champion reporting across the company and with customers. Communicate the vision, demonstrate new capabilities, and help commercial and marketing teams explain their value. Build enthusiasm and adoption while bringing customer feedback into the next round of product decisions.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of taking software products from discovery through launch and continued improvement.
  • Clear communication and independent execution. You write persuasive vision and requirements documents, make complex ideas understandable, and explain decisions and tradeoffs with precision. You build alignment across teams and move work forward through ambiguity and dependencies.
  • Experience building data products people rely on. You have delivered analytics or reporting products involving capabilities such as data exploration, visualisation, reporting APIs, scheduled delivery, or data collaboration. You understand what makes these products useful in customers’ daily workflows and what it takes to earn their trust.
  • Hands‑on fluency with data. You’re strong in SQL and comfortable exploring datasets, investigating discrepancies, and testing hypotheses yourself. You understand data modelling, metric definitions, and how granularity, freshness, and quality affect an analysis. You bring an analytical mindset and know how to use visualisation and data storytelling to make complex information clear and actionable.
  • Technical depth and a collaborative approach to building. You enjoy working closely with engineers on data pipelines, APIs, query performance, and the models that underpin reporting. You can translate customer needs into meaningful technical requirements and reason through tradeoffs across flexibility, latency, reliability, and scale.
  • Strong product judgement and attention to craft. You simplify complex problems, recognise the details that matter, and make scope decisions that preserve the value of the experience.
  • A keen eye for UX and a bias toward simplicity. You know the best experiences feel simple because someone made difficult decisions about what to leave out, and you partner with designers to push for clarity, especially in data‑dense products.
  • Customer curiosity backed by action. You spend time with users, use the products you manage, and translate what you learn into clear priorities and useful solutions.
  • A commitment to measurable outcomes. You use evidence to evaluate whether a product is delivering value, recognise when your assumptions were wrong, and follow through on improvements.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with digital advertising, programmatic platforms, or advertiser and agency workflows.
  • Experience building AI‑native analytics or reporting products that rethink how people—and agents—work with data. This could include conversational exploration, automated investigations, proactive insights, or APIs and tools that enable agents to query data, reason over results, and take action. We’re especially interested in builders who have moved beyond demos to useful experiences, with thoughtful approaches to accuracy, evaluation, permissions, and user trust.
