Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, trade publications, Government departments and industry media.
  • Proactively secure coverage in national and trade press and broadcast media for initiatives, awards, conferences and policy positions.
  • Write and distribute press releases, media statements, thought leadership pieces and articles.
  • Support the organisation’s TV and multimedia output by promoting interviews, features and news externally.
  • Act as an on-screen presenter, interviewing guests and representing the organisation publicly.
  • Monitor media coverage and provide briefings and reporting to senior management and the communications team.
  • Identify and pitch story ideas to raise the organisation’s profile within the freight and logistics sector.
  • Act as a media point of contact, responding to enquiries and arranging interviews with spokespeople.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging across channels.
  • Maintain a strong B2B social media presence on LinkedIn and actively engage with organisational channels and relevant audiences.
The PersonEssential
  • Proven experience in media relations and PR, ideally within logistics, transport, trade associations or B2B environments.
  • Strong network of journalist contacts in trade and national media.
  • Track record of proactive profile-raising and successful media campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • On-camera presenting and interviewing experience.
  • Understanding of freight, logistics or transport sectors.
  • Confident representing an organisation publicly, including interviews and media briefings.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
  • Experience promoting multimedia content externally.
  • Experience working within a trade association or member organisation.
  • Knowledge of policy, trade regulations or industry trends.
Personal Attributes
  • Highly proactive and media-savvy.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident, articulate and credible in public.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
