About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in London. The successful candidate will run multiple medium‑sized projects, engage directly with clients, and coordinate engineering services for electrical installations, systems, equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and specifying controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services.
- Surveying and testing existing electrical installations.
- Ensuring functional specifications and customer requirements are met.
- Providing day‑to‑day decision making on project progress.
Role Responsibilities
- Run medium‑size projects and lead client‑facing development, design and coordination of electrical engineering services.
- Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services.
- Survey, test and report on existing electrical installations.
- Define activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation and operational testing comply with functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Make day‑to‑day decisions on project progress and liaise directly with clients.
- Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors.
- Carry out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet robust industry and legal standards.
- Ensure technical content and accuracy of trainee, graduate and engineer work.
- Validate and check designs and specifications.
Role Requirements
- BEng, MSc, or equivalent with sufficient experience.
- MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND with appropriate experience, or equivalent.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types.
- Sound knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to use IT‑based calculation and spreadsheet software.
- Good understanding of BS standards.
- Time‑management skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Managerial experience.
- Background in consulting or construction preferred.
- Understanding of international operations of a global consultancy.
- Act ethically and follow the company’s Ethics Charter and Guidelines.
