Role Responsibilities:

  • To be a key player in a new part of the business promoting the four pillars of Decarbonisation, Decentralisation, Digitalisation and Demand reduction of energy, water and waste in buildings, campuses and cities.
  • Overseeing a team running large projects.
  • Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.
  • Provide technical and commercial support for the development of sustainable infrastructure solutions to complement RED's building services design.
  • Engage with other Engie Group Business Units to promote complementary sustainable infrastructure solutions for our combined client base.
  • Develop working relationships with the relevant people within Tractebel to deliver projects.
  • Work with the Central Engineering and R&D teams to assist with incorporating new technologies and tools into the Energy Transition market.
  • Continuously update knowledge of the products provided by the Red Central Engineering team and how these can be used to win projects and provide new services.
  • Lead/manage site energy, water and waste audits as a first step to develop new energy transition projects.
  • Manage techno-economic studies using external and in-house modelling tools providing financial results for different technical options for energy saving and energy generation solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest technologies and regulations relating to demand side reduction, renewable energy generation, energy storage and electricity grid connections and initiatives.
  • Promote both within Red and externally, knowledge of the latest technologies and regulations relating to demand side reduction, renewable energy generation, energy storage and electricity grid connections and initiatives.
  • Assist with the evaluation of industry and energy/circular economy market trends in order to develop and evolve the Energy Transition group activities.
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities to help build a long-term active pipeline, exploring both existing markets and targeting new market opportunities.
  • Create, develop and build long-term professional customer relationships with existing, new and potential clients through networking, social media and attending industry events.
  • Be able to comprehend, analyse, and interpret various types of business documents such as complex and lengthy RFP documents with detailed SOW.
  • Solve problems involving different technical and/or management options when demanded by different situations, using wherever possible existing company tools or tools within the wider ENGIE group.
  • Support with sales strategy roadmap compilation and negotiations with clients for new and ongoing opportunities.
  • Help to build credibility and trust quickly with C-Level executives/decision makers for new and existing clients.
  • Lead commercially on interactions in a client-facing role for complex projects.
  • Ensure commercial documentation such as NDAs, MSAs and Ts and Cs are negotiated, agreed and valid on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinate the internal ENGIE and Tractebel network of multi-disciplined teams to provide the most effective inter-company teams for opportunities.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams.
  • Understand and comply in full with company governance and due diligence as per the Red company guidelines.
  • Carry out cost and profit diagnosis on projects including feasibility studies and preparation of project fee proposals and cost plans.
  • Undertake site surveys and due diligence reports.
  • Be technically astute and take a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutions.
  • Production of technical white papers to promote the technical capabilities of Red in the sustainable infrastructure domain.
  • Raise the company and business profile by representing RED Engineering Design at industry events and promoting an image of professionalism always.
  • Presenting technical papers at industry events where the opportunity arises.
  • Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.
  • Hands on involvement in the sector management team in conjunction with other members of the team.
  • Willingness to travel and act autonomously across a multi-cultural region with integrity and professionalism at all times.
  • Flexible to work outside core office hours from time to time, and to travel across regions as required.

Role Requirements:

  • BSc/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline such as mechanical, electrical or process engineering or have sufficient equivalent experience.
  • MCIBSE/MIEE or other corporate institute membership or HND/HNC + appropriate experience or equivalent.
  • Achieved or working towards chartered status.
  • Experience in the area of building/campus scale services as well as small scale power generation including co-generation, trigeneration and decentralised renewable power generation.
  • Experience with local infrastructures including microgrids, district heating and cooling schemes, energy centres and thermal or electrical storage.
  • Experience of working in different industrial sectors such as manufacturing, petrochemical, Life Sciences, Data Centres, etc.
  • Experience of having managed projects abroad (desirable).
  • Sound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislation.
  • Appreciation & working knowledge of contract and business law.
  • Knowledge of MS office applications Word, Excel etc.
  • Flexible and self-motivational approach to work.
  • Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software.
  • Good understanding of British and EU standards/UK regulations/codes.
  • Experience and understanding of invoicing and credit control.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload.
