The Role: We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Rail Technology & Services business unit. Reporting to the Platform Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering scalable, secure, and developer-friendly platform capabilities. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll influence architecture, mentor others, and drive reliability and modernization across our engineering ecosystem.
What you will do:
- Lead the delivery of platform capabilities aligned with strategic goals
- Define golden paths, reusable templates, and infrastructure-as-code standards
- Drive incident response and service reliability improvements
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to platform governance
- Enhance developer experience through better tooling, onboarding flows, and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineering, SRE, and security
- Promote GitOps, observability, and policy-as-code practices
- Support modernization efforts using the 6Rs framework and enable scalable foundations for product teams
What you’ll bring:
- Deep understanding of platform engineering and developer enablement
- Proficiency in cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitOps, and Terraform
- Experience with observability tools, infrastructure automation, and legacy modernization
