We are looking for an experienced Business Development Director to lead our go-to-market strategy, expand strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth in the construction and fleet management sectors. This role requires a proven track record of building and scaling commercial operations in SaaS or IoT businesses, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to translate market insights into repeatable commercial success. For this role, we expect a travel percentage of up to 50% to meet prospects and internal activities (mostly in the UK, however some travel will include other countries in Europe).

What’s in it for you?

  • Lead and collaborate with a cross‑functional commercial team focused on accelerating adoption of our platform across new and existing markets.
  • A place in an agile growth SaaS business, with possibilities to grow internally in the company.
  • We are moving quickly, so fasten your seat belt and prepare to adjust.
  • International environment with regular check‑ins and social events across teams, departments and borders.
  • We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and we support them through training, coaching and mindfulness as well as with an open feedback culture to enable you to identify your strengths and opportunities.
  • Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us. We do offer you a flexible setup and believe that you best can structure how your routines look like.
  • We got you covered with the IT equipment you need for your work.

Who are you ideally?

  • Minimum 8 years of commercial experience driving business development, partnerships, or strategic sales in SaaS, IoT, or construction technology.
  • Demonstrable success growing ARR through new business, channel partnerships, or enterprise deals.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to define and execute GTM plans, segment prioritization, and pricing models.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills; comfortable presenting to C-level executives and external partners.
  • Data-driven decision maker: experience with pipeline management, CRM best practices (e.g., Salesforce), deal desk coordination, and KPI-driven reporting.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus but not required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the business development strategy for assigned markets and segments to deliver revenue and market share targets.
  • Identify, negotiate and close strategic partnerships and alliances that accelerate customer acquisition and expand product reach.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Customer Success and Implementation teams to align GTM activities, feedback loops and commercial packaging.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate sales forecast, pipeline reporting, and performance metrics; use data to optimise conversion rates and deal velocity.
  • Design and implement repeatable sales motions for enterprise, mid-market and channel-led opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer executive meetings and thought‑leadership opportunities to strengthen market positioning.

Our hiring process

  • Initial phone conversation with a colleague from our People & Talent team to get to know each other a bit better.
  • Virtual meet and greet with key commercial stakeholders.
  • Assignment-specific interview. You will receive a case to prepare that reflects concrete work tasks or strategic challenges related to the role.
  • Present the case to relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
  • If needed, throughout the process we will obtain references from former employers and conduct background checks for level-specific roles, if you have not provided these yourself.
  • Offer presentation and walk-through.
