As we continue to scale, we are looking for an experienced HR & Operations Director to help build the infrastructure, culture, and systems needed for the next phase of growth.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position with significant influence across the business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead the people, operations, and organisational development strategy of a rapidly growing law firm. You will be responsible for creating scalable systems, strengthening culture and performance, improving operational efficiency, and helping shape the long-term direction of the business. This role is ideal for someone commercially minded, highly organised, and passionate about building high-performing teams within a modern professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR & People
    • Lead recruitment strategy, onboarding, and retention initiatives
    • Oversee performance management, appraisals, and employee development
    • Develop training pathways and internal progression structures
    • Support managers with people-related matters and team performance
    • Foster a positive, ambitious, and high-performing workplace culture
  • Operations
    • Design and improve operational systems and workflows
    • Streamline office operations, policies, and compliance processes
    • Partner with finance on workforce planning and reporting dashboards
    • Monitor KPIs and operational performance across the business
    • Drive efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Leadership
    • Work closely with the Managing Director on strategic growth plans
    • Help shape the future structure and scalability of the business
    • Support implementation of new technology and operational tools
    • Act as a key member of the senior leadership team

What We’re Looking For

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong HR and operational leadership experience
  • Experience within professional services or legal sector preferred
  • Proven ability to build scalable systems in growing businesses
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving ability
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
