Our mission is to reinvent how businesses make their biggest decisions. We are starting by building the best Excel AI add-in for complex financial modelling. Financial models underpin every important decision a company makes. The process of building them today is broken; financial modelling is, by far, the worst-tooled form of programming. Today, Tracelight is Cursor for serious financial modelling in Excel. Long-term we will build the AI operating system for the entire strategic decision lifecycle - work that today happens across Excel, PowerPoint, email, and meetings. We believe this new category is one of the most fundamental applications of AI, and a $100bn+ opportunity.
Company Overview: Tracelight was founded in 2024 by Peter Fuller, Aleksander Misztal and Janek Zimoch. The founders have backgrounds from McKinsey, Jane Street, and 11x.ai. Today, our team is 12 people. We combine top-tier engineering talent with the best former investors, bankers, and consultants. We raised a $3.6m seed round in early 2025, led by Chalfen Ventures, Acequia Capital, and industry veterans. Tracelight is now live with over half the world’s biggest consultancies, as well as PE megafunds and investment banks. We are growing our team to become the go-to product for all institutional customers in our category.
The Role: Software is changing. Non-technical people can now shape it as much as engineers do. At the same time, AI is rewiring knowledge workflows at unprecedented speeds. Tracelight's AI Deployment Team is made up of domain specialists who sit at the frontier between software and users. They translate between product and user needs, and lead customer organisations through this powerful but unsettling transformation.
As a founding member of the team, you will own one of our largest customers, or up to five. You will often set up camp in their offices. You run office hours. You sit with our users, help them discover what AI can do for them, and write the skills and instructions that make Tracelight work specifically for them. When the work needs a small piece of software, you write it with AI. You feed what you learn back to our engineering team, to shape the roadmap. You meet senior decision-makers and figure out how to expand Tracelight in their organisation. You will be in-person marketing, product, and a consultant-to-consultants, all at once. You will come out of it fluent in three things: shaping what AI does, writing the software that surrounds it, and selling powerful technology.
What you will do:
- Become a trusted partner to leading Consulting and Finance professionals: understand their workflows and pain points, and translate their needs into feedback for the product roadmap.
- Own client adoption and account growth alongside Sales - lead on designing demos, onboarding teams and driving practice and organisation-wide expansion at top-tier global institutions.
- Identify and build high-value use cases across the full lifecycle of Consulting and Finance workflows: complex modelling, financial reporting, data transformation, audit and integrity checking, and everything in between.
- Solve user’s immediate challenges – you work proactively, quickly, and thrive under pressure.
- Establish yourself as the trusted expert on your clients’ workflows and evolving product needs - bring customer insights to the product team and directly influence Tracelight’s roadmap.
- Be a part of a generational change in how Consulting and Finance professionals operate, leading the adoption of AI around the world.
What you will need:
- Evidence that you're very smart and a top-decile commercial operator.
- High agency, energy and determination.
- Excellent ‘client hands’ and a love of building relationships with customers.
- Most likely have spent 2-5 years in a top-tier Consulting, Banking, Private Equity / Credit, Financial Advisory institution.
Why Join Us?
- Build at the frontier: Create an AI-native product built from first principles.
- Do work that matters: build a product that transforms how organisations make their most important decisions - have GDP-level impact on the world.
- Join an exceptional team: focus on building a truly elite organisation.
- Build from scratch: we’re not looking to copy-paste our culture, organisation and processes from elsewhere. You will be building them from the ground up.
- Rapid career progression: join an early-stage, high-growth team with a clear path to leadership as we scale.
- Strategic account ownership: lead the end-to-end success of our founding enterprise partnerships.
