An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Operations Manager to join a fast-growing international retail and e-commerce business. Operating within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, this role will lead the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring robust financial controls, efficient transactional processes and continuous operational improvement.
This position is ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys driving process efficiencies, managing high-volume finance operations and partnering with stakeholders across the business to support continued growth.
The Financial Operations Manager will take ownership of the company's finance operations, overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management, payroll and financial controls. The successful candidate will ensure finance processes operate efficiently, support month-end close activities and identify opportunities to improve systems, automation and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), cash management and general ledger activities are delivered accurately and efficiently.
- Manage month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring financial transactions are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Monitor working capital performance, including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) and cash collection performance.
- Oversee supplier payments, ensuring invoices are processed accurately, payment deadlines are met and supplier relationships are effectively managed.
- Manage customer collections and aged debt, supporting strong cash flow and minimising outstanding balances.
- Establish, maintain and continuously improve financial controls, operational procedures and governance across finance operations.
- Monitor and report on operational finance KPIs, including invoice processing times, payment accuracy, audit findings, cash collection rates and process automation initiatives.
- Oversee weekly payroll operations, including payroll for the US.
- Manage payroll controls, approvals, pension administration, HMRC submissions and payroll reconciliations to the general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, statutory requirements and internal control frameworks.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes through automation and systems enhancements.
