Trace Systems is seeking a SharePoint Power Apps Developer to support the Norfolk Naval Shipyard CIO department (Code 109), and the associated network capabilities are currently supporting activities that directly contribute to Navy Fleet readiness. Some of the functions supported by the network include automated tools that enhance the warfighter’s ability to execute their mission; support to mission areas such as Fleet logistics, maintenance, ship industrial and maintenance production activities, engineering, supply, legal, readiness, plans and policy, program planning and management, and personnel; hurricane disaster preparedness and response; world‑wide support of bases, the war‑fighter, and stations; readiness reporting and support; and securing the Homeland.
NNSY CIO is responsible for the installation, administration, development, management, and/or maintenance of all networks and systems installed at NNSY and telecommunication services. The CIO provides IT approval for IT purchases made for and by NNSY. This department ensures that all systems and networks operate in a secure manner by implementing and managing an Information Assurance program that meets all Navy and DoD requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and full lifecycle support for the development, deployment, and administration of digital business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint Online.
- Enable business process automation, improve workforce collaboration, and enhance data visibility across the organization through low‑code/no‑code applications and site administration.
- Design, build, and maintain low‑code/no‑code applications using PowerApps (Canvas and Model‑driven apps).
- Develop and manage automated workflows using Power Automate.
- Build Power BI reports and dashboards to support data visualization needs.
- Ensure solutions are responsive, accessible, and meet performance expectations.
- Integrate PowerApps solutions with SharePoint, Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft 365, and external data sources.
- Manage and configure SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, permissions, and content types.
- Develop and maintain site pages, web parts, and document libraries.
- Lead and execute the migration of content, workflows, and functionality from on‑premises SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online.
- Implement governance policies for content lifecycle, data retention, and versioning.
- Provide user support and training on SharePoint functionality and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and platform issues.
- Conduct testing and implement updates or enhancements based on feedback.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, data governance, and organizational policies.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and demonstrate prototypes.
- Provide regular status updates to project managers and leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active, in-scope US Government issued Top Secret clearance.
- Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a SharePoint Developer or Power Apps Developer, of which at least three (3) years must be specialized experience in developing and administering SharePoint solutions and Power Apps applications.
SharePoint Development and Administration:
- Expertise in developing and deploying SharePoint solutions, including custom web parts, workflows, lists, libraries, content types, and site collection management in both SharePoint Online and On‑Premises.
- Administration of SharePoint environments, including user permissions, security, and governance.
- Configuration and management of SharePoint sites, document management systems, and collaboration solutions.
- Knowledge of SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, and Power Automate for workflow automation.
Power Apps Development:
- Proven experience in creating custom Power Apps solutions, including both Canvas and Model‑driven apps.
- Design and implementation of Power Automate workflows to streamline processes and integrate with external data sources like SQL, SharePoint, or third‑party APIs.
- Experience in connecting Power Apps to various data sources, leveraging Common Data Service (CDS), and implementing business rules within apps.
Technical Tools and Frameworks:
- Proficiency in utilizing the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) to create client‑side solutions.
- Knowledge and practical use of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) in conjunction with SharePoint and Power Apps.
- Strong command of REST APIs, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery for developing custom SharePoint web parts and Power Apps integrations.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Experience in troubleshooting issues within SharePoint environments and Power Apps solutions, including performance optimization, error diagnosis, and resolution.
- Regular system maintenance and updates to ensure the stability, security, and availability of SharePoint and Power Apps solutions.
Desired Qualification
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Developer, or similar certifications are highly desirable.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an IT‑related discipline (such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering) OR Level II Certification (Security+ or better) AND seven (7) years of relevant experience as described above.
