Based in Central London, this is a brilliant opportunity for a qualified accountant to help drive financial strategy, ensuring charitable funds are used effectively to advance scientific discovery and improve health outcomes. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting decision-making across the charity by delivering high-quality financial insights, managing reporting cycles, and strengthening budgetary processes. Produce timely and accurate management reports using Unit 4 and other financial tools. Partner with non-finance teams to build financial understanding and confidence. Monitor financial performance across programmes and advise on variances. Support funding applications with costings and financial input. Provide data for funders, government bodies, and external audits. Contribute to longer-term financial planning and strategic modelling. Carry out ad hoc financial analysis and develop business cases for new research initiatives. Ensure the finance system is used effectively to support accurate decision-making. A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent). Solid experience in a management accounting role – charity or research environment a plus. Excellent communication skills – confident explaining finance to non-finance teams. Strong Excel skills and a detail-oriented approach. Experience using Unit 4 or similar financial systems.
