Overview
Trace | Expert Accountancy & Finance Recruitment presents a 6-month Interim CFO opportunity on a fractional basis. Role is on-site in Central London, requiring 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday). This is a hands-on position balancing strategic advisory responsibilities with day-to-day management, reporting to the CEO for the 6-month period. The company is a London-based, people-first consultancy with a culture of open communication, autonomy and trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations across the Group, including accounting, reporting, payroll, and compliance for UK and US entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial records.
- Oversee external relationships with funders, banks, and tax agencies to maintain strong partnerships.
- Lead preparation and delivery of the Group's annual audit, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and presenting clear, accurate financial statements to stakeholders.
- Implement and oversee internal controls that align with the company's values-driven culture and ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Provide regular financial reports and analyses for executive leadership, offering clear insights into financial health and performance.
- Mentor and manage a high-performing finance, operations and revenue operations team, fostering collaboration and forward-thinking aligned with the company's culture.
- Partner with the wider company to develop financial literacy and shared ownership of financial and operational success.
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, providing insight on financial planning, performance and risk management.
- Lead all aspects of financial planning and forecasting, establishing metrics to drive sound decisions.
- Foster a culture of accountability and transparency within the finance team and across the organisation.
Operations
- Collaborate with the Head of Operations to co-lead design and optimisation of scalable processes, infrastructure and systems supporting growth.
- Partner on initiatives to enhance project delivery, resource allocation, and operational performance.
Revenue Operations
- Work with the Revenue Operations Lead to optimise revenue forecasting, pricing strategies and margin realisation.
- Provide strategic input to improve revenue cycle management and align commercial strategy with financial goals.
- Support cross-functional initiatives to enhance business development processes and drive predictable, sustainable growth.
- Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks to ensure resilience and continuity.
- Develop and implement risk management frameworks, policies, and processes aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Demonstrate flexibility in responding to incidents and crises, ensuring preparedness to adapt to unforeseen challenges.

- Experienced Interim CFO with a background in senior financial leadership for SME professional services companies.
- Available to work on a fractional basis for 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday).
