Our client, a respected London University, is looking for a qualified accountant with strong expertise in financial systems and data analysis to join their team as FP&A Manager. The post-holder will be responsible for leading key financial cycles such as month-end, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring outputs are clear, accurate, and impactful. They will bring experience in complex financial modelling and demonstrate confidence in engaging with stakeholders across all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the effective use, development, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s cloud‑based financial planning and reporting system.
- Maintain and update financial process documentation, guidance materials, and training resources.
- Support financial planning and analysis activities, including model development, reporting enhancements, and process optimisation.
- Manage and refine tuition fee models, ensuring accurate reporting and reliable income and student‑number forecasting.
- Provide high‑quality financial analysis and insight to inform organisational planning, performance, and statutory reporting.
- Identify opportunities to enhance analytical capability, improve processes, and strengthen stakeholder experience.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting cycles and other core financial planning activities.
Person Specification
- Significant experience in developing and maintaining financial models and complex financial reporting outputs.
- Proven ability to interpret complex or ambiguous data and present clear, actionable insights for senior decision‑makers.
- Strong financial, commercial, and business acumen, supported by excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure.
- CCAB‑qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant and up‑to‑date management accounting experience.
- Experience working within the Higher Education sector.
- Knowledge of multi‑stream income modelling.
- Experience in developing or implementing financial systems.
- Experience in leading teams or managing processes.
