If you know FINREP properly, not just "I've touched it" but actually know it, this contract is worth a look. A FTSE-listed bank is looking for someone to come in and own our FINREP setup end-to-end. That means reviewing the whole process from source systems to submission, fixing what needs fixing, tightening up the controls, and leaving things in a significantly better state than you found them. It's a meaningful piece of work, with real scope to make an impact and a clear mandate to get it done. You will be reporting into the Senior Technical Accounting Manager. It's hands‑on, outcomes‑focused, and the kind of role where you will make progress in and leave your mark.

What the role actually involves:

  • Taking ownership of the Group FINREP standard and refreshing it to reflect current regulatory requirements
  • Doing a full end-to‑end review of FINREP processes, finding the gaps, the manual workarounds, the key person dependencies
  • Designing and embedding better controls, properly documented and aligned to group standards
  • Acting as the technical authority on FINREP; template-level analysis, mapping reviews, interpretation challenges
  • Supporting BAU delivery of quarterly FINREP returns where needed
  • Building in sustainability; knowledge transfer, handover docs, making sure BAU teams can run it once you’re done
  • Keeping senior stakeholders informed throughout with clear progress reporting

What we’re looking for:

  • This is a specialist role, so the bar is fairly specific.
  • You’ll need hands‑on FINREP experience within a bank.
  • Professionally qualified is preferred (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA) but equivalent experience will be taken seriously.
  • If you’ve worked on controls transformation programmes or have familiarity with GRC tools, even better.
  • This is a fixed‑term contract, so we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and work to a clear timeline.

If that suits how you like to work, it’s a great opportunity — genuinely interesting subject matter, good team, and proper work to get your teeth into.
