We’re looking for an organised, proactive Billing & Credit Control Executive to join a growing technology business with an international customer base.
This is a hands‑on role within a small, collaborative finance team, with responsibility for managing invoicing and credit control across multiple businesses. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate billing, timely cash collection and effective working capital management.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and issue accurate, timely invoices for subscriptions, renewals, services and usage.
- Check invoices against contracts, orders and CRM records, ensuring VAT and sales tax are applied correctly.
- Manage the aged debtor ledger, proactively chasing overdue payments by phone and email.
- Build strong relationships with customers and their accounts payable teams to support timely payment.
- Resolve billing queries and disputes, issue credit notes and agree payment plans where appropriate.
- Allocate and reconcile customer receipts across multiple entities.
- Produce aged debt and cash collection reports, supporting month‑end reconciliations and bad debt reporting.
- Assist with customer onboarding, credit checks and audit requests.
- Identify opportunities to improve billing, collections and finance processes through better systems and automation.
About you
- At least two years’ experience in accounts receivable, billing or credit control.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
- Confident, professional communication skills, with the ability to manage customer queries and payment discussions effectively.
- Good Excel skills and experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or NetSuite.
- Able to manage competing priorities across multiple entities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proactive, organised and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience in a SaaS, software or subscription‑based business.
- Working with US customers, including sales tax and international collections.
- Multi‑entity or multi‑currency accounting.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Avalara or accounts receivable automation tools.
- Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA.
What’s on offer?
- Salary of £35,000–£40,000 plus benefits.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Hybrid working, with three days per week in the London office.
- The opportunity to join a growing international technology business and make a tangible contribution to its financial performance.
- A varied role within a close‑knit finance team, with scope to improve processes and develop your skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced billing or credit control professional looking to take ownership of their work within a growing, international business.
