Role: Restaurant Trainer / Assessor

Location: Sheffield

Hours: 28 per week

Start: August 2026

Pay: £28,760 - £33,563 pro rata

Contract type: Fixed term contract (mat cover)

I am working with a fantastic college in Sheffield who are looking for a Restaurant Trainer / Assessor to join them in August for a long term placement. This role will involve assessing and training Apprentice students on the onsite restaurant. Ideal for candidates with hospitality, restaurant, catering or learner support/training experience.

Requirements

  • Assessor's qualification
  • Experience working with hospitality and catering students

Key Duties Include

  • Training and assessing hospitality learners in a live restaurant environment
  • Supporting an outstanding learner and customer experience
  • Coordinating restaurant service sessions and events
  • Providing learner feedback and maintaining Google Classroom materials
  • Supporting safeguarding and attendance processes
  • Cash handling and supporting day-to-day commercial operations
  • Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health & safety and licensing regulations
  • Working closely with the Restaurant Manager to support targets and new industry‑led initiatives
  • Deputising for the Catering Operations Manager when required
