Curriculum Coordinator – GCSE Maths

York

£47,740 per annum

Full Time – 37 hours per week

Up to 50 days annual leave (including bank holidays & college closures)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maths educator to join a leading Further Education college as a Curriculum Coordinator – GCSE Maths.

Reporting to the Head of GCSE, you will play a key role in leading and improving the delivery of GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths across the college. This newly created management position combines curriculum leadership with teaching, allowing you to directly influence learner achievement while supporting and developing teaching staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and enhance GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths provision across the college.
  • Develop high-quality schemes of learning and teaching resources.
  • Support and guide Maths tutors to ensure excellent learner outcomes.
  • Deliver approximately 12 hours of Maths teaching per week, including intervention sessions.
  • Monitor performance, drive improvements and promote best practice in Maths delivery.

About You

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification (or above).
  • Proven success teaching GCSE Maths with strong achievement rates.
  • Experience within Further Education is desirable.
  • Passionate about supporting learners of all abilities, including those who may lack confidence in Maths.
  • Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
