The college can have someone start this role immediately or wait until September if the candidate has a longer notice period. Responsibilities Lead and manage English and maths strategically to ensure all students have a positive learning experience and achieve their full potential. Lead on the quality assurance activities for GCSE and Functional Skills English and Maths, ensuring all awarding body requirements are met. Ensure the delivery of excellence in teaching and learning for the English and maths provision (GCSE and Functional Skills), championing best practice and innovation to ensure that learners develop their English and maths skills for their next steps. Working with the Directors of Curriculum, lead the timetabling process of English and maths across college to maximise the efficient deployment of staff and other resources, together with ensuring that any planning and organisation places the learning experience at the centre. Requirements Candidates must have leadership/ Curriculum management experience within English and Maths PGCE/Certificate in Education or equivalent Extensive knowledge of GCSE and Functional Skills English and Maths qualifications, including curriculum, assessment procedures and awarding body requirements.
