The Role

We are looking for an Electronics Engineering Technician / Instructor to:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and components for practical sessions.
  • Interpret diagrams and assemble circuits, PCBs, and PLC systems for teaching delivery.
  • Demonstrate techniques such as soldering, wiring, and PCB assembly to students.
  • Support lecturers and aid students through practical demonstrations and one-to-one assistance.
  • Order, maintain, and manage stock of components, ensuring workshops run smoothly.
  • Promote safe working practices and maintain high-quality workshop standards.

About You

Youll have a strong background in electronics/electrical engineering with excellent practical skills and a collaborative, learner-focused approach.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Level 3 or above in Electronics/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Skilled in soldering, PCB assembly, wiring, and working with PLCs.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage equipment and stock.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety in workshop/lab environments.

Desirable:

  • Experience mentoring, training, or instructing others.
  • Teaching or assessor qualifications (or willingness to work towards).
