Our client, a fast-growing and innovative organisation operating within the technology sector, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to support its continued expansion. Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial strategy, governance, and day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for ensuring financial stability, driving performance, and supporting the business as it scales. This is a key leadership position with responsibility for managing and developing a small finance team, improving processes, and implementing best practices. The role offers excellent scope to influence strategic decision-making and contribute to long-term business success.

  • Provide strategic financial insight to senior leadership and operational teams
  • Drive financial performance with a focus on cost control and commercial outcomes

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles
  • Produce detailed management accounts with clear commentary
  • Deliver cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Maintain strong financial controls and governance frameworks

Financial Operations & Compliance:

  • Manage the full finance function within an SME environment
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing and collections
  • Ensure VAT reporting and tax compliance requirements are met
  • Manage payroll processes and employee-related financial reporting
  • Maintain reconciliations and support audit processes
  • Act as a key contact for external advisors and financial stakeholders

Identify and implement improvements across finance systems and processes, strengthen internal controls, risk management, and compliance. Promote the use of automation and digital tools to enhance efficiency. Contribute to project work and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with data protection, information security, and company policies. Support evolving ways of working within the finance function.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role within an SME
  • Strong understanding of long-term contract accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems
  • Experience in cash flow forecasting and financial planning
  • Familiarity with digital payment platforms and subscription billing systems
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or qualified by experience
  • Experience within an SME or end-to-end finance environment is advantageous

This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday), permanent position, office-based role. Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, company pension scheme, bonus scheme, 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays, sick pay.
