Experienced Shift Engineering Technician required to work on 3 on, 3 off Day or Night shift for a Global manufacturer at their Plymouth based site. As part of the Process Engineering Team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Process group in addressing and resolving technical challenges within their production areas. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills to improve processes, mentor Production Technicians, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise and support to Production Technicians in resolving complex machine-related faults.
Act as a process expert for specific equipment, guiding others and sharing knowledge.
Mentor Production Technicians, fostering their development in fault diagnosis and technology utilisation.
Utilise technology, including PCs, HMI screens, and MES, for effective fault diagnosis and equipment management.
Identify and implement improvements to existing equipment, focusing on cost reductions, productivity, quality, and health & safety.
Assist Project and Process Groups during the installation and start-up of new equipment, contributing to continuous improvement programmes.
Lead small process improvement projects, coordinating relevant skills such as Toolroom, Quality, and Validation.
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Candidate Attributes Required:
Minimum of Level 3 Electrical Engineering Qualification.
Proven Engineering experience working within high speed, automated / high volume assembly / manufacturing.
Previous supervisory experience or other Engineers / Technicians within an Engineering Team.
Strong engineering aptitude with the ability to fault find and resolve technical problems.
Excellent communication skills, with a positive attitude and patience for liaising with staff at all levels.
Highly Beneficial Experience / Knowledge:
Background in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, electrical, and servo systems is highly desirable.
SAP Experience (for ordering parts, utilising data etc).

24 days holiday + 8 statutory Bank Holidays per year (rising to 25 days holiday + 8 days BH after 5 years of service).
The successful candidate must be able to commit to either a 3 on 3 off day shift pattern working 11:00 to 23:00 or 3 on 3 off night shift pattern working 23:00 to 11:00. The successful candidate will be paid a 32% shift premium for 3 on 3 off Days and a 48% shift premium for 3 on 3 off Nights.
