Senior Buyer in Plymouth

What You\’ll Do

As our Senior Buyer, you\’ll:

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for the site ensuring all spend aligns with group policy.
• Drive cost reduction, productivity improvements, and supplier performance using a Total Cost of Ownership approach.
• Lead supplier negotiations and contract implementation to secure the best value.
• Collaborate closely with key departments to identify future savings opportunities and support strategic business goals.
• Monitor KPIs including OTD, PPM/NCR, and cost-saving metrics.
• Support CO2 reduction targets through supplier emissions data and sustainability planning.
• Evaluate new suppliers and manage risk, including financial stability assessments and supplier audits.
• Forecast inventory needs and support budget planning and monthly spend reporting.

What Were Looking For

Youll bring:

• 5+ years of purchasing experience, ideally in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of MRP systems and direct/indirect material sourcing.
• A proactive, analytical mindset with excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional and international teams.
• A degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field (preferred).
• Professional purchasing certification (preferred).
