TQR are working exclusively with a global Manufacturer based at their Plymouth site to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer on static night shift due to a vast increase in their order book. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the successful candidate will play a critical handsâon role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all machinery on site. The position is responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance, firstâfix repairs, and accurate CMMS documentation.
Working closely with the Maintenance Team Leader & Production Team Leaders, the successful candidate will contribute to asset uptime, quality performance, and continuous improvement. Complete all maintenance tasks in line with site safety procedures, risk assessments, permitâtoâwork policies and legal requirements.
- Perform dynamic risk assessments prior to each job.
- Maintain tidy, safe work areas using a cleanâasâyouâgo and 5S approach.
Reactive & Corrective Maintenance:
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns across manufacturing and site services, ensuring permanent and robust fixes.
- Communicate findings, actions taken, and followâup needs to the Maintenance Team Leader.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and contribute technical insights to CI initiatives.
Planned Preventative Maintenance:
- Execute PPM tasks as scheduled, ensuring quality completion within timeframes.
- Support continuous improvement of PPM routines to enhance asset reliability.
CMMS & Data Integrity:
- Ensure data quality is suitable for analysis by the Engineering team.
- Apply strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills to diagnose complex issues.
- Provide technical support for installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing (FAT) of new equipment.
- Work with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure efficient factory operation.
- Build strong relationships to support uptime, quality, and safety goals.
Electrical Maintenance & FaultâFinding:
- Lead on electrical diagnostics and permanent fault resolution across injection moulding machinery, drives, safety circuits, and ancillary equipment.
- Support electrical installations and carry out faultâfinding on electrical facility systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operation of site services and building infrastructure.
- Act as the primary point of contact for electrical breakdowns requiring inâdepth analysis.
Proven experience working as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer gained from either manufacturing or engineering. ONC / NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering. Strong fault finding experience on Electrical Systems.
The successful candidate will work static night shift comprising of Monday to Friday 22:00 to 06:00 however there may be a requirement for you to train on weekly shift rotation of Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00 and Monday to Friday 14:00 to 22:00 for the first couple of months prior to starting work on night shift.
