As Marketing Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering the organisations communications, stakeholder engagement and marketing strategy. You will develop a strong understanding of the key sectors, stakeholders and investment propositions, using this insight to lead promotional activity across digital, print and media channels. A key focus will be increasing awareness of the Freeports value proposition and supporting investor engagement. You will be responsible for content development as well as monitoring and evaluating campaign performance, adapting communications strategies as required. This role requires someone comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels, with strong relationship building skills and the ability to translate complex policy and investment themes into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing & Communications Strategy
    • Develop and deliver the organisations marketing and communications strategy, aligned with overall objectives and investment priorities.
    • Support alignment of messaging and activity with regional partners and stakeholders.
    • Plan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Content & Digital Channels
    • Lead the creation of high-quality content for digital platforms including website, LinkedIn, newsletters, and news updates.
    • Produce engaging materials such as case studies, interviews, webinars, social media content, and editorial features.
    • Ensure all communications align with organisational messaging and relevant compliance requirements.
    • Maintain and update digital platforms to ensure content remains current and engaging.
  • Public Relations & Media Engagement
    • Act as the lead for proactive media relations and outreach.
    • Manage incoming media enquiries and coordinate responses.
    • Draft press releases, statements, and briefing materials for spokespeople.
    • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and distribution channels.
  • Stakeholder Communication
    • Lead communications with key stakeholders including public sector bodies, investors, landowners, academic institutions, and industry partners.
    • Coordinate messaging and announcement planning with partners to ensure consistency and timing alignment.
    • Maintain and manage stakeholder contact databases and CRM systems.
  • Reporting & Planning
    • Track and analyse campaign performance, providing insights and reporting to senior leadership.
    • Support strategic communications planning and recommend improvements based on data and insight.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or PR roles, including campaign delivery and content creation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for varied audiences.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
  • Experience managing digital channels such as websites, LinkedIn, and email newsletters.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with analytics and performance measurement tools.
  • Self-starter with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.

Desirable Experience

  • Understanding of property, land development, or investment attraction environments.
  • Experience within economic development, public sector communications, or investment promotion.
