Responsibilities

  • Technical Support & Application Engineering
    • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for motor control products, including soft starters, motor control, and motor protection solutions.
    • Review customer applications and specifications, recommending appropriate technical solutions.
    • Support customers, distributors, and sales teams with product selection, commissioning guidance, troubleshooting, and application advice.
    • Respond to technical enquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer service.
    • Deliver technical training to customers, distributors, and internal teams.
  • Sales & Business Development Support
    • Work closely with sales teams to support new business development opportunities.
    • Provide technical input during customer meetings, presentations, and specification activities.
    • Support development of OEMs, key accounts, consultants, and end-user relationships across international markets.
    • Assist with technical proposals, quotations, and project submissions.
    • Communicate technical and commercial benefits of products to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Product & Market Intelligence
    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments.
    • Gather and share customer feedback to support business growth and strategy.
    • Contribute to product development and enhancement business cases.
    • Represent customer needs and future market requirements internally.
  • Product Management & Marketing Support
    • Support the creation and review of technical documentation, application guides, case studies, and product literature.
    • Provide technical input for marketing materials, website content, product launches, and campaigns.
    • Ensure technical accuracy across all customer-facing documentation.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
    • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure a strong customer experience.
    • Maintain accurate records of technical activity, opportunities, and customer interactions in CRM systems.
    • Attend exhibitions, conferences, and customer events as required.
    • Travel domestically and internationally (primarily within EMEA) when needed.
    • Contribute ideas to improve products, processes, and market positioning.

Experience & Requirements

  • Essential HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in industrial automation, motor control, drives, motor protection or similar electrical engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and industrial applications.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, schematics and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong presentation and customer-facing ability.
  • Self-motivated with strong organisation and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Desirable
    • Experience with low-voltage motor control equipment such as soft starters, VFDs, MCCs, or protection systems.
    • Experience in an international technical support or sales environment.
    • Knowledge of IEC, NEMA, or relevant industrial standards.
    • Experience delivering technical training or presentations.
    • Understanding of OEM, distributor, and end-user sales channels.
