TQR are working exclusively with a Manufacturer based in Devon to recruit a Quality Controller at the start of a growth journey for the business. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will ensure all products meet the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
You will:
- Inspect materials, monitor production processes, report non-conformities, and collaborate across departments to prevent defects and improve processes.
- Examine raw materials and components before production.
- Conduct first-off and final inspections of materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Verify that production outputs meet design specifications.
- Implement and monitor quality procedures at each production stage.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and quality logs.
- Prepare quality reports for monthly reports and customer support packs.
- Suggest improvements in materials, processes, or assembly methods to enhance product quality.
- Participate in root-cause analysis of quality issues and support corrective actions.
- Work with design, production, and procurement teams to address quality concerns.
- Train or advise staff on quality standards and best practices.
- Support inspections and certifications to maintain regulatory and safety compliance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in a similar quality control role within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret 2D and 3D technical drawings.
- Physically fit, able to be active and hands-on in the production environment.
- Full clean Driving Licence.
- Forklift licence gained from an external training provider.
- Previous experience or knowledge of upholstery skills.
