TQR are working exclusively with a Manufacturer based in Devon to recruit a Quality Controller at the start of a growth journey for the business. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will ensure all products meet the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
You will inspect materials, monitor production processes, report non-conformities, and collaborate across departments to prevent defects and improve processes. This role requires excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work proactively with the production, design, and wider teams.
- Examine raw materials and components before production.
- Conduct first-off and final inspections of materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Verify that production outputs meet design specifications.
- Implement and monitor quality procedures at each production stage.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and quality logs.
- Prepare quality reports for monthly reports and customer support packs.
- Suggest improvements in materials, processes, or assembly methods to enhance product quality.
- Participate in root-cause analysis of quality issues and support corrective actions.
- Work with design, production, and procurement teams to address quality concerns.
- Train or advise staff on quality standards and best practices.
- Support inspections and certifications to maintain regulatory and safety compliance.
Proven experience working in a similar quality control role within a manufacturing environment is required. The candidate should have the ability to interpret 2D and 3D technical drawings, be physically fit, and able to be active and hands-on in the production environment. A full clean driving licence and a forklift licence gained from an external training provider are also necessary. Previous experience or knowledge of upholstery skills is advantageous.
