In this role you will program, set and operate CNC Machinery working to fine tolerances, use CAM software and consistently deliver projects on schedule while upholding exceptional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines and lathes to produce high-quality components.
- Manufacture precision-engineered components to tight tolerances from raw material through to final inspection using a variety of metals.
- Conduct detailed quality inspections of finished components, using metrology equipment to ensure finished component conforms with engineering drawings, SOPs, CAD models, and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process improvements, resolve production issues, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Mentor and provide day to day technical support to Apprentices and junior staff.
- Maintain excellent Health and Safety procedures.
- Recognised Mechanical Engineering or Machining Apprenticeship.
- Proven experience working as a CNC Machinist in a precision engineering environment working to tight tolerances.
- Experience Programming, Setting and Operating 3 & 4 axis CNC Machinery.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Experience working to tight tolerances.
- The ability to work accurately with an excellent eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to work as part of a team and under your own initiative.
- A reliable, positive and motivated attitude.
- Experience using Fanuc controls and CAD/CAM software would be highly advantageous.
