We are looking for a dynamic, creative and organised Social Media Assistant to join a growing retail business based in Plymouth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about social media, content creation and digital marketing.

Youll help manage multiple social media channels, create engaging content and identify new opportunities to grow online audiences, strengthen brand awareness and support sales.

About the Role We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual who can work effectively to tight deadlines, manage competing priorities and maintain a strong focus on brand consistency.

Youll work closely with the wider social media and marketing teams to develop engaging content, support campaigns and stay ahead of the latest social media trends and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day activity across the companys social media channels.

Create engaging written, graphic and video content.

Develop and publish content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, You Tube and Tik Tok.

Explore new and emerging social media platforms and opportunities.

Create content designed to encourage audience interaction and increase engagement.

Support the delivery of larger social media campaigns and projects.

Work collaboratively with internal teams to develop and deliver campaigns.

Monitor competitor activity and identify relevant opportunities.

Generate new ideas and concepts for social media content.

Keep up to date with social media trends and incorporate relevant developments into the wider strategy.

Use analytics and reporting tools to measure campaign performance.

Prepare reports and provide insights based on social media analytics.

Support strategies designed to increase brand awareness, audience growth and sales.

Ensure social media activity supports wider business objectives and targets.

Support influencer partnerships and endorsements as part of the overall social media strategy.

Optimise content where appropriate for search and discoverability.

About You Were looking for someone who is creative, enthusiastic and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in social media and digital content.

Youll ideally have: Strong knowledge of major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, You Tube and Tik Tok.

Confident IT skills combined with a creative and analytical approach.

Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

A willingness to learn new technologies, software and industry developments.

Experience with Adobe, Corel, Photoshop or similar design software is desirable but not essential.

Knowledge of Google Analytics and paid social advertising is desirable.

The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also using your own initiative.

A proactive approach and the confidence to bring new ideas to the table.
