Experienced HR Administrator / Assistant required to work for a manufacturing company based in Plymouth. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will support and act as an integral member in the day-to-day running of the HR team. You will help keep employee records up to date, provide generalist administrative support across all areas of HR in a confidential manner, support recruitment activities, and provide a professional and friendly point of contact for colleagues and managers. This is a temporary position covering planned sickness absence for approximately 3 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support recruitment processes (advertising roles, arranging interviews, preparing offers).
- Maintain employee records paper-based and electronically.
- Assist on boarding and induction.
- Respond to employee and manager queries promptly and correctly.
- Track absence and holidays.
- Support payroll administration.
- Prepare HR documents.
- Support training and HR activity.
- Ensure compliance with policies and processes.
- Handle confidential data responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
- Undertake a range of general office and admin tasks.
Essential Experience, Knowledge & Candidate Attributes Required:
- Previous experience in a role such as HR Administrator or Assistant.
- Experience handling records or data.
- Experience working with people in a professional setting.
- Strong organisation skills coupled with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Approachable with a professional manner.
- IT literate using Microsoft suite of products and ideally with HR management systems.
- Able to handle confidential information.
- Good time management and teamwork.
- Good standard of education (including English and Mathematics).
Desirable Qualification, experience (non-essential):
- Previous experience in handling a basic level of HR issues would be an advantage.
- HR related or business qualification would be highly advantageous (qualified or part qualified).
