Our client, a prestigious global engineering firm based in Plymouth are looking for a Data Analyst / MRP Controller
Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst / MRP Controller to optimise material resource planning, analyse data for process improvement, and ensure efficient supply chain management.
Role Summary
As a Data Analyst / MRP Controller, you will play a critical role in balancing production requirements, inventory control, and procurement strategies. Leveraging your analytical expertise and knowledge of MRP systems, you will ensure the seamless flow of materials and data-driven decision-making across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Resource Planning (MRP):
- Manage and maintain MRP systems to align material supply with production demand.
- Generate and analyse forecasts to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Release and monitor purchase orders, production schedules, and work orders.
- Analyse supply chain and production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop dashboards and reports to support operational decision-making.
- Provide insights on cost optimization, lead times, and supplier performance.
- Monitor and adjust inventory levels to minimize waste and downtime.
- Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to improve delivery accuracy and lead time.
- Ensure accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing data within the MRP system.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to align production goals with material availability.
- Act as a liaison between departments to ensure timely updates of project requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel).
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, and production planning.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in working with large datasets and familiarity with SQL or Python is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Certification in APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
